Dr. Kissoon is an expert on sepsis and critical care and Vice Chairman of the Council of the Global Sepsis Alliance (GSA). In 2013 the World Sepsis Declaration was released with a mandate to place sepsis on the global development agenda, to support the implementation of international sepsis guidelines, to mobilize stakeholders to prevent and control the impact of sepsis and ensure sufficient treatment and rehabilitation to survivors.
