Global Pediatric Infectious Diseases (GpID), International Fellowship Training Program

Infectious diseases are a global phenomenon. To battle not just the new emerging infections from Ebola to SARS to pandemic influenza, but well established microbes such as HIV, TB, malaria or drug resistant Staphylococcus requires a new way of thinking, a new approach – one that crosses borders on purpose. The borders that need crossing are located between countries, continents, cultures, and between medical disciplines such as pediatric infectious diseases, immunology, microbiology, infection control and global health, as well as between clinical medicine and research. Our Global Pediatric Infectious Disease (GpID) fellowship-training program provides this border-crossing training to highly qualified fellows from around the world.

For Canadian Pediatric Infectious Diseases Residents: This Canadian Royal College approved academic fellowship training track will over 2 to 5 years provide the trainee with a 2 year Clinical Core Curriculum and an option to pursuce a 3-5 year Advanced Degree Curriculum focused on global infectious disease issues leading either to a MSc or PhD in the basic sciences, or clinical research or epidemiology.

For Pediatricians / Pediatric Residents from partner countries with an interest in a career in infectious diseases research GpID offers a 3-5 year Advanced Degree Curriculum focused on global infectious disease issues leading either to a MSc or PhD.
